Visitors celebrate new additions at Great Bridge Lock Park



Chesapeake Parks and Recreation recently sponsored an event at The Great Bridge Lock Park. Visitors had a chance to see the new playground and the newly installed decorative medallion and Civil War anchor.

The Calypso Medallion on display at the Great Bridge Lock park, represents the spirit of the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal because she was the first vessel to transit the finished canal in 1859.
